Air Selangor Engagement Session with MAH KL & Selangor Chapter on 9 October 2026 The Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAHO) Executive Director, Encik Shaharuddin M Saaid, attended the Air Selangor Engagement Session with hotels in the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chapter at Dorsett Hartamas Kuala Lumpur. The initiative aims to facilitate employment opportunities for local tourism workers, strengthen local workforce participation, and reduce reliance on foreign workers in the tourism sector. Through enhanced collaboration and effective workforce matching, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to building a more productive, competitive, and sustainable tourism industry in Malaysia. 	Hotelier Conference 2026 on 28 & 29 September 2026 The Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAHO) showed its support for the Hotelier Conference 2026 by attending the two-day conference held on 28 & 29 September 2026 at Nexus, Connexion Conference & Event Centre, Bangsar South. This year’s conference focused on "Navigating New Industrial Relations & Employment Law Reforms in Hospitality” — an important and timely topic as the hospitality industry continues to adapt to evolving employment policies, workplace practices and regulatory requirements. The conference brought together industry stakeholders to exchange insights, discuss key challenges and explore practical approaches to navigating the changing employment landscape in Malaysia’s hospitality sector. The event was organized by Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) and MEF Academy, supported by the Association of Hotel Employers (AHE), Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAHO) and Malaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association (MyBHA). 	The Federal Kuala Lumpur Official Reopening on 18 September 2026 MAHO Executive Director, Encik Shaharuddin M Saaid attended the official reopening ceremony of The Federal Kuala Lumpur on 18 September 2026. Malaysia’s first international-class hotel, The Federal Kuala Lumpur has reopened its doors following a renovation that began in 2024, unveiling new additions alongside the restoration of several of its cherished heritage features. First opened on 28 August 1957, just days before Merdeka, the iconic hotel in the heart of Bukit Bintang has long been woven into Malaysia’s history and hospitality story. The reopening marks a new chapter for this historic landmark, blending contemporary enhancements with the character and heritage that have made The Federal an enduring symbol of Malaysian hospitality. MAHO congratulates The Federal Kuala Lumpur and the Low Yat Group on this significant milestone and looks forward to seeing this iconic landmark continue to contribute to Malaysia’s tourism and hospitality landscape.
