The Federal Kuala Lumpur Official Reopening on 18 September 2026 MAHO Executive Director, Encik Shaharuddin M Saaid attended the official reopening ceremony of The Federal Kuala Lumpur on 18 September 2026. Malaysia’s first international-class hotel, The Federal Kuala Lumpur has reopened its doors following a renovation that began in 2024, unveiling new additions alongside the restoration of several of its cherished heritage features. First opened on 28 August 1957, just days before Merdeka, the iconic hotel in the heart of Bukit Bintang has long been woven into Malaysia’s history and hospitality story. The reopening marks a new chapter for this historic landmark, blending contemporary enhancements with the character and heritage that have made The Federal an enduring symbol of Malaysian hospitality. MAHO congratulates The Federal Kuala Lumpur and the Low Yat Group on this significant milestone and looks forward to seeing this iconic landmark continue to contribute to Malaysia’s tourism and hospitality landscape. Date: 18 Sep 2026 The Federal Kuala Lumpur Official Reopening on 18 September 2026 Date: 18 Sep 2026	MAHO Council Meeting 114/2026-4 on 14 September 2026 at Agate Room, M World Hotel Petaling Jaya The Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAНО) Council Meeting 114/2026-4 was successfully held on Monday, 14 September 2026 at Agate Room, M World Hotel Petaling Jaya. The meeting covered several key areas, including MAHO President’s address by YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Teo Chiang Hong, reviewing and confirming the minutes of Council Meeting 113/2026-3 held on 29 June 2026, following up on key issues and action items from the previous meeting, updates on the Association’s activities, engagements and ongoing initiatives, and an overview of the Association’s financial position and related matters. We were also pleased to welcome our MAHO Associate Plus Members, Wyntronix Innovations Malaysia and Skyviu Network, who shared their products and solutions with our Council members. 	Majlis Perasmian Penutupan Pertandingan Inovasi Produk Makanan Lebih Sihat Peringkat Kebangsaan Tahun 2026 on 12 September 2026 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Puncak Alam Campus Encik Shaharuddin M Saaid, Executive Director of MAHO was proud to represent MAHO at the Majlis Perasmian Penutupan Pertandingan Inovasi Produk Makanan Lebih Sihat Peringkat Kebangsaan Tahun 2026 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Puncak Alam Campus. The event was launched by YBrs. Dr. Ismuni Bin Bohari, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Kesihatan (Kesihatan Awam), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia. MAHO was also delighted to receive the Buku Panduan Modifikasi Resipi Makanan Tinggi Gula (Kek, Pastri dan Kuih Tradisional Melayu) prepared and published by UiTM. With stronger collaboration between government agencies, universities and industry associations, we can help more hotels, restaurants and food-service operators introduce menus that are not only healthier, but also innovative, appealing and sustainable. 	Town Hall Session on the establishment of the National TVET Commission on 10 September 2026 at AICB Centre of Excellence MAHO Executive Director, Encik Shaharuddin M Saaid attended the Town Hall Session on the establishment of the National TVET Commission, held at the AICB Centre of Excellence. The session was organized by TalentCorp, the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia and TVET Malaysia, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the future direction and development of Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) ecosystem.
